As disciples of Jesus, we are called to not only
follow Him but also to help prepare His Bride for
His return. The Bride of Christ refers to the
Church, which is made up of all believers in
Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 5:25-27, the Apostle
Paul writes, “Christ loved the church and gave
himself for it that He might sanctify and cleanse it
with the washing of water by the word, that He
might present it to himself as a glorious church, not
having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but it
should be holy and without blemish.” This means
that as followers of Jesus, we are called to help make
the Church holy and blameless, and ready for the
return of Christ.

Here are a few ways that we can help prepare
the Bride of Christ for His return:

1. Share the Gospel: The first step in preparing
the Bride of Christ is to share the Gospel with
those who do not yet know Jesus. In Matthew
28:19-20, Jesus commands His disciples to “go
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of

the Holy Ghost, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you.” This
means that we are called to share the good news of
salvation through Jesus Christ with everyone we
meet.

2. Disciple new believers: Once someone has
accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we
need to help them grow in their faith and become
mature disciples of Christ. In Matthew 28:19,
Jesus commands His disciples to “make
disciples” and this involves teaching them to obey
everything that Jesus has commanded. We need
to be intentional about discipling new believers
and helping them grow in their faith.

3. Practice holiness: As followers of Jesus, we
are called to live holy lives. In 1 Peter 1:15-16,
Peter writes, “But just as he who called you is
holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be
holy, because I am holy.” This means that we
need to be intentional about living lives that are
pleasing to God and avoiding sin.

4. Love one another: In John 13:34-35, Jesus
commands His disciples to love one another. “As
I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my
disciples, if you love one another.” This means
that we need to be intentional about loving and
caring for our fellow believers, and building up the
Church as a community of love and support.

5. Pray for the Church: Finally, we need to be
praying for the Church and asking God to help us
prepare His Bride for His return. In 1 Timothy 2:1-
2, Paul writes, “I urge, then, first of all, that
petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving
be made for all people—for kings and all those in
authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet
lives in all godliness and holiness.” This means
that we need to be praying for our fellow
believers, our church leaders, and the Church as
a whole.

In conclusion, as disciples of Jesus, we are called
to help prepare His Bride for His return.

This involves sharing the Gospel, discipling new
believers, practicing holiness, loving one another,
and praying for the Church. May we be faithful in
fulfilling this calling and may we always be ready
for the return of our Lord and Saviour – Jesus.

Jesus is coming back for His Bride soon, are you ready?
